Slow Cranking

Dim Headlights
Headlights that seem dimmer than usual, especially at idle, indicate your battery is not holding a full charge.
Dashboard Warning Light
That battery-shaped light on your dashboard is not decoration. If it flickers or stays on, pay attention.
Age Over 3 Years
Most batteries last 3-5 years. If yours is in that range, it is worth testing before the next cold snap.
Corrosion on Terminals
White or blue buildup on your battery terminals can prevent proper charging. This is easy to spot if you pop the hood.
